An Exploration of Classic Bars

November 17th, 2007 · No Comments

Some time around 1865, long before old man Brunswick was putting on his bowling shoes, he was swinging a hammer perfecting the first saloon bars.  The bars were  prefabricated mainly with only hand tools, put on a train and shipped to saloons all across the country. What if they forgot something or measured wrong?  (someone got chewed out). I bet they had some old-timer they called Pop to keep them in line. This is amazing to me, not only because there were still Indians running around, but a lot of these bars are still in use today.

Here is a collection of bars that Pop and I have built over the last couple of years. Hopefully these photos can help inspire you to design, build or own a classic bar for yourself.
