With a few minor alterations to the factory model, this is definitely one of Pops’ favorites for sure!
This made in the Whether you’re building a grandfather clock or a giant classic bar, the ability to create arched moldings is essential to fine woodworking. There is nothing more frustrating then running all over town trying to find the right moldings for the job. We’ve all done this, not finding the right lengths or species can be a serious downer and add curved moldings to that hunt and you could spend most of your valuable time trying to build a piece around your own limitations. (Who wants to do that)?
This machine gives you the ability to create any moldings (strait or curved) out of the same batch of lumber you’re working with, a lot of the times right out of the scraps! Big dollars can be saved here!
The unique design of the William and Hussey molder enables its users to create moldings for almost any radius, (Big or small). Its 2 horsepower motor is powerful enough to mill up to a 6 ¾” molding, and this is important if you want to mill that heavy bar molding you see on a real classic bar.
However just like everything else there is a lot of work setting up jigs and patterns for this machine, but once you familiarize yourself with the logistics of this machine and its advantages, your limitations will be endless.
I’ll post more on this machine and running moldings soon!

I just found this. great little site. I too love my W&H. I was just wondering about the minor alterations to the factory model…I was thinking for my next big run, I might drop for the new variable speed attachment they WH makes, but what do you guys do for better than factory results?.
Thanks. keep it up.

Hey Caleb, The modifications to the W&H was mainly to the gears to slow down the feed, W&H has these new smaller gears in stock and it makes a world of difference when cutting moldings.
