If you have ever spent time around a cabinet shop full of old timers, chances are you know what a dado is. Old timers are all about working smart, not hard.Their objective is to get the job done as fast and accurately as possible. The sooner they finish, the sooner they can go home. This is what dado joinery is all about, getting the job done without working hard. A dado or rabbet joint is just a groove across the grain of a board, in which another board will slide . This creates a very effective joint, not only very strong but very practical. By using dadoing techniques in the building of your cabinetry, you are basically creating a self squaring cabinet. (Fast & Accurate)
Basic tool for cutting dados
10″ Table saw (the more horse power the better)
8″ dado blades (plan on spending between $80 to $100)
